Vigie-Ciel awarded the INRAE 2025 Participatory Research Prize

Congratulations to Vigie-Ciel, winner of the INRAE 2025 Participatory Research Prize in the "Citizen Collection" category!

This exemplary participatory science project, led by the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris and supported by the Île-de-France region through DIM ORIGINES, brings citizens and scientists together around the shared ambition of better understanding the origins of the solar system through the study of meteorites.

Since 2015, thousands of astronomy enthusiasts, mediators and researchers have been working together to observe the bolides, report falls and help collect fragments. In 2023, two new meteorites were found in France, thanks to this collective effort!

Vigie-Ciel embodies the power of participatory research: producing new knowledge while breaking down barriers between science and society.

Well done to all the teams, partners and volunteers involved in this great collective adventure!
